Eastwind sells, supports, manages and operates policy solutions from two of the industry leaders - Ribbon's PSX Policy Solution and Oracle Communications' Enterprise Communications Broker (ECB). These two products approach policy from different architectural perspectives. PSX acts as a routing database that is dipped on a per call basis by both Sonus and other SIP-based application servers and SBCs. Oracle's ECB is an in-line proxy that works equally with any SIP-based application server or SBC. The PSX is designed to meet the needs of both service providers and enterprises for call routing. With an easy-to-use GUI-based management system, the ECB is specifically designed to meet the needs of enterprises. Eastwind is proud to both resell and support these powerful routing tools. By leveraging Eastwind's expertise in both systems, users can quickly and confidently deploy either routing platform. Lastly, Eastwind is proud to offer both capabilities as a managed service offering deployable in either your premise or our colo.

Ribbon's centralized policy and routing solution (PSX) provides a better way to manage the security, complexity and cost of routing calls across any operator's network. PSX is designed as a scalable, high-availability architecture to optimize capital expenses by maximizing utilization of network resources. At the same time, single point of provisioning of a master database, which is propagated to multiple replicated databases for localized processing, greatly reduces the complexity and cost of operations.
The PSX supports hundreds of configurable policies including routing policies, custom dialing plans, emergency calls, call blocking and screening, local number portability lookups and calling name delivery. These policies can be managed and applied uniformly across heterogeneous networks without the need to r"rip and replace" legacy equipment - a key advantage in multivendor enterprise networks that have resulted from mergers and acquisitions or service provider networks that feature a mix of legacy and next-generation technology. In addition to its policy management tole, the PSX can act as a SIP proxy/redirect server in the network, addressing differences in SIP signaling between systems as well as playing externally stored tones and announcements. The platform is extremely scalable and cost-effective handling enterprise size loads through 10s of millions of routes and subscribers. Lastly, the PSX can be deployed in any fixed or mobile operators network, including as an IMS Border Gateway Control Function (BGCF).
