CaribComX Deploys Eastwind-based Pan-Caribbean Exchange

- Eastwind Designs, Installs and Supports LCR Solution with Acme Packet, Dialogic, and GCS - 
Marigot, Saint Martin: March 26, 2013 CaribComX today announced that it has deployed a new voice over IP exchange platform designed and installed by Massachusetts-based systems integrator Eastwind Communications.  CaribComX is a Dauphin Telecom-led Caribbean partnership, funded by the European agency Interreg Caraibes IV.  CaribComX’s charter is to provide smaller
fixed and mobile providers with a new alternative to obtain competitive rates and to improve pan-Caribbean communications. 

As part of an ongoing effort to continually improve their network performance and lower their costs, Dauphin has partnered with nine other island carriers to offer a multi-carrier exchange - CaribComX.  Regions represented in the exchange include: Anguilla; Antigua; Barbados; Bonaire; British Virgin Islands; Curacao; Dominican Republic; Guadeloupe; French Guyana; Jamaica; Martinique; St Barth; St Kitts and Nevis; St Martin; Sint Maarten and St Vincent. By combining resources from such a wide base, the partner members are able to take advantage of economies of scale and connectivity options they may not have on their own.
